The 'cake' is fab - most towns think that a few hanging baskets suffice to cheer a place up! The other one reminds me of Hansel and Gretel - love the chimneys!

I thought they'd done it for your birthday at first, Susan.

The top picture is the corner of Fort Street and Foul Bay Road, right in front of Canada Trust, Boo. The bottom picture is the Penny Farthing pub, on Oak Bay Avenue, four or five store-fronts down from the Blethering Place, just before (Hampshire Road?)...the one you would walk down to Oak Bay High School. Peter and I are going there on Monday for two-for-one fish & chips. It's a wonderful little neighbourhood pub, excellent decor and frequent live entertainment.
